SGA transitioned this past Wednesday from the 2012-2013 General Board to the 2013-2014 General Board! Check out the photos below of our newly elected members taking their oath of office!
Below is a press release regarding the 2013 SGA elections from the current Student Body President Benjamin Cloutier:
Quinnipiac undergraduates made their presence and their opinions known on April 10, 2013 as they chose their class leaders in the university’s Student Government Association (SGA) elections by voting for the second time on the Quinnipiac CollegiateLink system.
With nearly one third of the undergraduate population casting their ballots, the students chose who will be representing them for the 2013-2014 academic year.
Over forty students vied for the thirty one coveted positions on Student Government. Those who lost their respective races were offered the opportunity to become involved in the organization as non voting members.
Student Body President and Chair of the Election Committee, Benjamin Cloutier, commented on the election, “A heartfelt congratulations are due to all of the candidates who competed in this year’s Spring Election. Each of the candidates put forth a tremendous amount of effort towards their respective races, and I’m proud to see so many of my peers excited and enthusiastic about affecting positive change on our campus. I’m confident in this year’s class of SGA members to continue the traditions of hard work and dedication towards the betterment of this community.”
The organization would like to thank all who came out and participated in the election. SGA encourages all students to find what they enjoy being involved in on campus while they are at Quinnipiac University. Earlier this month, your Student Government Association held our first Student Organization Appreciation Day where we gave acknowledgement and recognition to all of the organizations on our campus for their hard work. This event was created by the Vice President of Programming Lauren Enea and the Programming Committee who all worked on putting the event together. Representatives from many organizations attended and received free food, gifts, and more! We cannot wait to hold this event again next year. Check out our photos below!
Earlier this week, SGA welcomed 2 new members to our family! The first is Rebecca Carlone, a Freshman on the Freshman Class Cabinet who will also serve on the Public Relations Committee. The second is Adam Davis, a Sophomore who will serve on the Sophomore Class Cabinet as well as the Public Relations Committee. The two individuals have worked hard to get these positions and we are more than excited to start working with them throughout this semester. Congrats to Rebecca and Adam!
The Big Event this year is taking place on April 6th and we are more than excited to get you involved! Quinnipiac’s Big Event is a co-sponsored event with the Student Government Association (SGA) and the Community Action Project (CAP). The Big Event was started 28 years ago at Texas A & M University and has grown to be the largest, one-day, student-run service project in the nation. It’s aim is to give back present students with the opportunity to say “Thank You” to residents of the surrounding communities. You can sign up on Qu.Collegiatelink.Net by copying and pasting the following link which takes you directly to the registration form: www.tinyurl.com/qubigevent
