Center of Excellence!
The 10th Center of Excellence took place on Thursday, October 25th in the Rec Center at Quinnipiac University. All 41 members of SGA were invited to the special event and the Student Body President, Ben Cloutier, gave an opening speech. The Center for Excellence in Teaching and Service to Students encourages, supports and recognizes superior teaching and service to students at Quinnipiac. The center serves as an important vehicle in helping the University to achieve its educational mission, consistent with its three core values: high quality academic programs, a student-oriented environment and a sense of community. Honorees are nominated by members of the University community.
This year’s recipients of the Center for Excellence in Teaching Award included Mohammad Elahee, professor of international business in the School of Business; Kim Hartmann, professor of occupational therapy in the School of Health Services; and Sharlene Walbaum, professor of psychology in the College of Arts and Science. This year’s recipients of the Center of Service to Students Award included Dorothy Lauria, registrar; Kristen Richardson, laboratory instructor in biology; and Janice Wachtarz, associate vice president for information services.
